Ohio Loan Forgiveness Programs
John R. Justice Loan Repayment Program
- Amount: Up to $1,054
- Description: The John R. Justice Student Loan Repayment Program (JRJ) provides loan repayment assistance for state and federal public defenders and state prosecutors who agree to remain employed as public defenders and prosecutors for at least three years.
- Requirements:
§ A beneficiary must be employed in the state from which s/he receives JRJ funding.
§ A beneficiary must be employed full-time, which is not less than 75 percent of a forty hour work week.
§ A beneficiary must be continually licensed to practice law.
§ A beneficiary must not be in default on repayment of any federal student loans.
§ Attorneys providing supervision, education, or training of other persons providing prosecutor or public defender representation are also eligible.

Ohio Dental Loan Repayment Program
- Amount: Varies
- Description: The intent of the legislation is to encourage dentists to practice in underserved areas of Ohio by providing loan repayment for dentists who agree to provide care in those areas (as defined in the program rules.)
