I would like to add that my loans at the time of signing were at 2%, now they are at 7%.

I worked for UPS so that does not qualify. I will not further comment, but I’d like to thank you for your answers and for possibility for others to see them as they can read them and judge the system.

This explains it. PSLF started as a program in 2009, but remember, you have to meet all three criteria for each of the 120 payments (repayment, employment, loan type).

You started making payments for said job in 2010, and ended in 2016. If you made every payment during that period (assuming Sept 2010 to Sept 2016), that would have only been 84 payments. But you also stated that you did some deferments, which would have reduced that number (deferments don’t count as a payment).

My hunch is a combination of both – some deferments, but I would guess you didn’t certify your employment for each year during that period? Your MOHELA Dashboard should show you, and you have your copies of the ECFs still to back it up?

But even then, you didn’t get to 10 years or 120 payments. Max payment count based on your above information is only 84.

What have you been doing since 2016? Does this employment qualify?

I was employed from 2005 to 2016 and I started payments on some loans from 2008. Most of the time they were in deferment while I was studying and later sometimes when I couldn’t afford payments. I graduated in 2010. It appears that all my payments made after 2016 are not qualified which totally surprised me.

Thanks for clarifying. Do your employment certification forms cover all 10 years/120 payments? It could be you only had maybe 4 submitted (covering the 40 payments), and you didn’t go back far enough? Can you pull your ECF forms and resubmit? And if you don’t have them, can you contact your former employer and get them filled out and submitted?
