It all started well and I did whatever I could, answering surveys, daily polls, daily activities, and also to download games and watch ads. It was a fun experience for me throughout. Then out of the blue 1 day, my account was deactivated (no email was sent to me for this) and I realised this when I tried to log in.

Naturally, I submitted a ticket to find out what was going on. They came back to me a couple of days thereafter to say that I breached their policy for either sharing accounts or having multiple accounts (both of which I do not do). I explained to them that I had used swagbucks on my desktop and laptop, but ultimately focus on my mobile to play the games and watch the ads.

All they did was come back with another email saying that the account deactivation was final and the case is now closed (with no evidence whatsoever of the wrongdoing).

Whilst they might pay you some money, a lot of your hard work (of watching ads) will ultimately go to waste. Stay away from them. They should be reported to the police or whatever other authority looks after companies like this.

You click on one survey, answer a few questions and you don’t seem to be good enough for one point. Then when you think you are for one, you spend ten minutes answering some questions, you get half-way through and it stops saying “Sorry, that answer was wrong”, like it’s a test! You need 1,500 points just for a $15 gift card to Starbucks and 5000 points for anything good, that would take who knows how long to get to! Better luck just answering a telemarketer when they call you to get the good crap.

When I tried to redeem my rewards, they deactivated my account. They refused to give me a reason why, and I am certain I did not violate their terms. This conveniently lets them not have to pay out any rewards.

Besides the time wasted when attempting to complete surveys and being disqualified or dealing with a technical issue, the biggest disappointment was the Shopping. I booked a ton of hotel stays through Swagbuck’s Hotels.com link, and they are now permanently pending in my account. I have sent numerous inquiries and complaints but all I get is canned responses. There is NO phone number for customer support – you cannot talk to a human, no matter your issue. This company has over $500 of my rewards “pending” and I have little hope that they’ll pay out. Although I’ve earned gift cards from Swagbucks in the past, it’s a slow, arduous process, and I consider myself completely ripped off by these latest issues. Going forward, I’ll be using another service.
