Don’t invest in Vanguard just for the funds. You can buy Vanugard ETFs and funds anywhere. And most brokers have direct competitor funds and ETFs that may be similar for equal or even lower cost.

While the user interface is not as intuitive as other platforms and does not offer fractional share investing, I would say that its low cost funds are aligned with investor incentives.

Vanguard is also bad for day traders and option traders.

However once someone gets up to $10k in assets in their Vanguard account, it becomes a great broker for long-term investing. Some have argued to build your first $10k at other brokers, then transfer to Vanguard once they reach $10k in assests (post-taxes).
