Nondeductible Employee Contributions on the adoption agreement is pre-checked “No”, with these instructions:

Part C. Nondeductible Employee Contributions This section has been prepopulated to reflect provisions that are in line with our operations. These elections should not be changed. Making changes to these elections on your Adoption Agreement could cause a rejection of your application, a delay in account opening, or adverse tax consequences for your plan

The things they do well are:

– Free trades
– Low cost Index mutual funds from Schwab and Vanguard.
– Roth/Traditional IRAs
– Custodial accounts
– DRIP
– Good for option analysis and trading
– Paper trading (practice trading).
– Solid research tools

Re: solo 401k: Does E-Trade allow for after-tax contributions, then potential immediate in-plan rollover from the after-tax sub-account to the in-plan Roth 401k (‘Mega back-door Roth’); if so, is there a limit on # times/year?
Did you end up w/ an E-Trade 401k? Any downsides in terms of E-Trade’s solo 401k options and timing to execute these options relative to a TPA (I’m not concerned w/trading costs, or loans or alternate investments as much)?
So there would be a tax-deferred sub-account for employee contributions (and is this sub-account where I could transfer my Schwab defined-contribution pension to as well?), an after-tax sub-account, but what about a potential Roth sub-account; also is the profit-sharing sub-account part of the initial tax-deferred sub-account?
Thanks again Joe….
