Robinhood turned off instant deposits for crypto, but they still allow it with settled funds. With that being said, it was never a great crypto platform because you never actually owned your own tokens/coins. Check out this list of the best crypto exchanges if you really want to go that path.

We’re not big fans of Edward Jones. See this Edward Jones review. We also have this horror story: How Honest Financial Advisors Should Disclose Their Fees.

If you really want to pay an advisor, you should look at a service like Vanguard PAS (which you’re already using Vanguard for things it sounds like). Vanguard would handle all the legwork to get everything migrated to them.

I was wondering what your thoughts are on Edward Jones? I am switching from a SEP to a 401K solo. I currently have my SEP and other stock investments with Edward Jones. My fees last year were approx 1.65% of my total balance. I feel this is extremely high although my investments did very well in 2020, almost 29% in my mutual funds and 52% in stocks. Is it worth paying almost 2% in fees to achieve high returns or are those comparable to other companies in 2020? I am not super knowledgeable about investments, so I rely on my broker to advise me of the best funds, stocks etc.
I see my advisor once a year for a planning session and I have been called once about a hot stock investment. Is it worth it or should I just move everything to different company that charges less?
I have other investments with Vanguard, but their 401K solo per your article isn’t the best option in your opinion.
I would still like some professional advice, but I don’t want to pay the amount I am paying now.
I also don’t want to have accounts with lot of different companies to keep things simple. My young son’s investments are with EJ too, that I would want to move with my investments.
I would welcome your opinion.

Where did you see this? I just checked their pricing page and it says $6.95 for US equity trades and ETF trades? See here: https://www.tdameritrade.com/pricing.page
