I agree! This is how I’m currently tackling my student loans. Although, sometimes people just need that psychological boon to keep them motivated/moving forward, so it’s sometimes necessary to switch it up depending upon your situation.

Sounds great! I received a refund this year due to paying property taxes and mortgage interest. Otherwise, I’d have owed taxes–no free gov’t loans here 🙂

Sometimes you have to shake up the priorities in order to reignite your passion for meeting your goals, so I definitely understand this. The caveat is that it can’t become a habit, which is what you already know.

Personally I think that you should start with the debt that has highest interest, regardless of size of the debt, but what do you think?
