In reply to Debra. I graduated from Strayer with Bachelor and Master degrees. Yes I racked up a huge student loan debt that is taking forever to payoff; however, I got a great education and have made a very nice 6-figure income starting around 2-3 years after I graduated.

In reply to Sian Guidry. Now is as good a time as any to take action on your loans. First, you need to know what you owe. Find your Federal loans at StudentAid.gov. Find your private loans by checking your credit report. See this guide: How To Find Your Loans. Once you know where your loans are and what type, you can potentially take action. For your federal loans, you file a borrower defense claim as outlines above. For private loans, there may not be many options. That's why you need to know what you have.

I have no idea where to start with any of this…I went to blue cliff, it’s on the list…(I had no idea what they got me into as far as loans and never helped me find a job like promised)( the “teachers” weren’t even real teachers) I did not know at the time what kind of loans I was getting…since 09 I have never made more than $35,000 a year, ever….ive been forbearing and deferring since then worrying about how to pay anything back….ive been through Sallie Mae and now navient/advantage…I don’t even know the difference between For profit-Unsubsidized/ and ide or save….Is there someone out there that can help me go through my stuff and figure out what I qualify for??
